Whoever reads the question answers first. It sets the depth, and it means nobody feels interviewed.

If an answer surprises you, ask one more thing about it before moving on. Thirty questions with follow-ups is a better night than sixty without.

The last ten land better once you are both warmed up. If you only have twenty minutes, play round 1 and round 3.

What are 30 good questions to ask your partner?

How long do 30 questions take?
Usually 45 minutes to an hour if both of you answer each one and allow a follow-up. Round 1 goes fast. Round 3 is where most couples slow down.
Is this the same as the 36 questions to fall in love?
No. The 36 questions are a fixed sequence from Arthur Aron's 1997 closeness study, written for strangers. These 30 are written for people who are already together. The 36 have their own playable page on Flamme if you want the original.
