1. Flamme
best for a daily connection habit you both keep
How you track together. Both partners answer the same question each day and see each other's answer once both have replied. The app keeps a streak for the habit, and adds couple games, plus a shared bucket list on Premium.
Price. Free to start. Premium $12.99 a month or $44.99 a year (US App Store).
Watch out for. It tracks one habit, connecting, not your workouts or water. For those, pair it with one of the trackers below or our free tracker.

Price. Free forever for one group and five habits, no ads. Premium price not listed publicly.
Watch out for. No iPhone app, and it is a small, new app from a solo developer.

4. Habitica
best for gamers, and couples who want a shared to-do board
How you track together. Free parties let you team up and fight monsters by finishing your own tasks. The paid Group Plan adds a shared task board where a task can be assigned to one of you, both of you, or whoever gets to it first.
Price. Free app. Group Plan $9 a month plus $3 per extra member, so $12 a month for two. Personal subscription from $4.99 a month or $47.99 a year.
Watch out for. It is a role-playing game. A partner who does not like games will drop off, and the shared board costs money every month.

9. stickK
best for accountability with something at stake
How you track together. You set a goal and invite your partner as a referee who confirms your progress reports, or as a supporter. You can put money on it, paid to a friend, a charity or an "anti-charity" if you miss.
Price. Free app. The only cost is any money you choose to stake.
Watch out for. It is one person's goal with the partner as judge, which can start to feel like policing.
