Minute-to-Win-It Games for Couples: Christmas Edition

1. Jingle Bell Toss

Materials: 6 candy canes, 2 stockings

Song: "Jingle Bell Rock"

Pair up with your partner. One person holds the stocking while the other tosses candy canes. The catch? You can only throw when you hear the word “jingle” in the song. If you throw at the wrong time, you and your partner take one step farther apart. Designate a judge to keep things fair. The pair with the most candy canes in their stocking by the end of the song wins!

2. Gift Wrap Race

Materials: Wrapping paper, tape, 2 gift boxes, oven mitts

Song: "Run Rudolph Run"

Slip on oven mitts and race to wrap your gift box as quickly as possible. Neatness doesn’t count—this is all about speed! Whoever finishes first wins. Bonus points if you can finish before Chuck Berry sings "Run, run Rudolph!"

3. Marshmallow Snowstorm

Materials: 10 mini marshmallows, 2 mugs, bowls

Song: "Let It Snow"

Set up a line of mugs at the finish line and bowls with 5 marshmallows at the starting point. Using only your mouth, race to grab marshmallows from the bowls and drop them into your mug. The first person to fill their mug with 5 marshmallows wins. For added fun, play the game to "Let It Snow" and race before the song ends!

4. Christmas Ornament Roll

Materials: 2 ornaments, masking tape, straws

Song: "Jingle Bells"

Use masking tape to create a start and finish line on the floor. Each player must roll their ornament from start to finish using only a straw to blow it across the floor. The first to cross the finish line wins, or whoever gets the farthest before the song ends takes the prize!

5. Candy Cane Catch

Materials: Candy canes, ribbon or twine, 2 chairs

Song: "Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree"

Tie a piece of ribbon or twine between two chairs. Players stand on the chairs and try to drop candy canes onto the ribbon to get them to stay. Play until the first person gets a candy cane to catch on the ribbon or see who can land the most in a minute. This is a challenging yet rewarding game, perfect for adults who enjoy a little competition!

6. Rudolph’s Red Nose Relay

Materials: Red pom poms, spoonfuls of vaseline, Rudolph cutout or picture

Song: "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer"

Give each player a red pom pom and a spoonful of vaseline. To play, dip your nose into the

vaseline and stick the red pom pom to it. Then, race across the room to place the pom pom on Rudolph’s nose (apply a bit of vaseline to Rudolph’s nose beforehand to help it stick). First to successfully stick the pom pom wins, or see who can do it the fastest in a minute!

7. Balloon Pop Frenzy

Materials: 20 balloons (10 red, 10 green)

Song: "Up on the Housetop"

Blow up balloons and scatter them across the floor. Players race to pop their balloons by sitting, squishing, or stomping—no hands allowed! The player who pops all their balloons first wins.

8. Christmas Cookie Crawl

Materials: 2 cookies (gingerbread preferred)

Song: "All I Want for Christmas Is You"

Place a cookie on your forehead and try to move it to your mouth without using your hands. If it falls, start over. First to successfully eat their cookie wins—or finishes before Mariah’s high note!

9. Ornament Stack-Off

Materials: Plastic cups, small ornaments

Song: "Deck the Halls"

Alternate stacking ornaments and cups to build the tallest tower possible. If your tower topples, you can start again. The highest stack by the end of "Deck the Halls" wins!

10. Snowball Scoop

Materials: Cotton balls, spoons, 2 bowls

Song: "Winter Wonderland"

Using a spoon held in your mouth, scoop cotton balls ("snowballs") from one bowl and transfer them to another. First to transfer all their snowballs wins—or whoever has the most when the song ends!
